Russian: Taught as a living language, largely by native speakers. You will also study Russian civilisation, history & culture, with particular emphasis on the 19th & 20th centuries. Students spend a term or a year in Russia, depending on the other subject they are combining with Russian. A-level standard required. Spanish: Practical work in Spanish & a choice of modules covering history, geography, politics, art, literature & film of Spain & Latin America. The 3rd year is normally spent abroad. Classes at all levels in Spanish & academic & cultural activities in collaboration with The Instituto Cervantes.

Assessment method
Modules are normally assessed at the end of the semester in which they are taught; the form of assessment will vary according to the individual modules, and may include a combination of different formats, e.g. formal written examinations and continuous assessment. Your degree will be assessed on your performance in all modules in the upper years of your programme, including any elective modules.
