This course provides the opportunity to develop skills in music and in journalism alongside a study of their social and cultural aspects. Core modules in Media Theory will allow you to investigate the nature and organisation of media activities, while a choice of music options allows you to develop your skills as composer, performer and critic. You will also analyse a range of music-orientated media genres and develop important practical skills used by music journalists. By the end of the course you will have developed your skills both as a musician and as a professional communicator and have a thorough understanding of the inter-relationship between music and journalism.
