Course info
In this course participants will explore a range of 2D and 3D visual language. They will have the opportunity to work in a variety of areas such as painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, using computers for art, textiles, fashion as well as 3D materials such as clay, wirework and wood. Professional practice will be integrated into their study and is based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. After successful completion of the course, they can progress on to a Higher Education course in a related subject. Possible career options include fashion design or fashion retail, web page design, fine art, textile and surface pattern design, illustration, advertising, painting, printmaking, graphic design and careers in design crafts and multimedia.

Assessment method
Participants will be continually assessed through a portfolio of evidence culminating in a final major project at the end of the two year programme of study.

Entry Requirements
Participants must possess 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (and English at grade D minimum) or BTEC First Diploma (Pass) or equivalent plus 2 GCSEs at grade C or above (and English at grade D minimum) or Equivalent qualifications and experience.
